Rep. Reick to Host Holiday Food Drive on Saturday, December 12, from 9:00 am-noon

Woodstock – State Representative Steve Reick (R-Woodstock) is hosting a holiday food drive on Saturday, December 12, at his legislative office.

Donations of canned and non-perishable items will be collected in the rear parking lot of Rep. Reick’s legislative office, located at 1072 Lake Avenue in Woodstock, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

“The pandemic and the economic shutdowns have created great need this holiday season. I’m glad to be working with our local food pantries to assist local families in need throughout the 63rd district in McHenry County,” said Reick. “Our food pantries and community organizations provide a critical service for the residents of McHenry County year round, but the need is especially great during the holidays.”

Those wishing to donate simply need to follow the signs that guide them through the parking lot where event volunteers will collect their donated items, which will then be delivered to local food pantries throughout the 63rd District, which encompasses McHenry, Wonder Lake, Richmond, Hebron, Harvard, Woodstock, Union and Marengo.

This event will follow social distancing guidelines, and those donating do not have to leave their cars, as volunteers will be available to collect the items directly from the car.

The food pantries have indicated that they are in need of canned meats, fruits and vegetables, other non-perishable food items and paper products. Monetary donations will be accepted as well.
