IDOT Update

Since 1995, IDOT has had a right of way through Glacial Park as one of the possible routes for the proposed expansion of Rt. 53. It’s been almost 30 years, the expansion is going nowhere and IDOT still refuses to release the right of way despite repeated requests to do so. Until it’s released back to the McHenry County Conservation District, there will always be the possibility that it’ll be developed. It’s long past time to give this right of way back to the people of McHenry County.
